Why Is It So Difficult for Overseas Workshops to Repair Chinese EVs?

Chinese EVs — BYD, Li Auto, NIO, XPeng, and dozens of others — are now sold in 130+ countries. Yet for independent workshops outside China, repairing them remains a major challenge. The core problem is not the vehicles themselves; it is the complete absence of authorised infrastructure in overseas markets.

No authorised Chinese EV dealers or service centres in most overseas markets
OEM diagnostic computers cost USD 5,000–10,000 and are not available abroad
Technical documentation, wiring diagrams, and service manuals are not publicly accessible
EV powertrain (battery, motor, controller) is fundamentally different from ICE — no local training available

About Chinese EV Repair

Why is it so difficult to repair Chinese EVs outside China?

The main challenges are: 1. The EV powertrain (battery, motor, controller) is fundamentally different from a combustion engine, and local technicians have little to no training on it. 2. Most Chinese brands have virtually no authorised service centres outside China. 3. OEM diagnostic computers cost USD 5,000–10,000 each and are extremely difficult to source abroad. 4. Technical documentation, wiring diagrams, and service manuals are simply not available.

How does NEV Fix's remote diagnostics service work?

Our service follows a simple four-step process: 1. The overseas shop connects the Smartlink C to the vehicle's OBD port. 2. The Gateway laptop encrypts and transmits the vehicle data to China. 3. A factory-trained engineer in China uses an OEM diagnostic computer to read the fault codes and analyse the issue. 4. They guide the technician through the repair in real time via WeChat or WhatsApp. The entire process is safe, compliant, and requires no expensive equipment on-site.

Which Chinese brands do you support, and what are the prices?

We support virtually all Chinese EV brands, including BYD, Li Auto, Zeekr, NIO, XPeng, AITO, GAC Aion, Hongqi, Avatr, IM Motors, Changan, Chery, and more. Diagnostics start from ¥700 per session; pricing varies by model and system version. See the Pricing page for full details.

How long does a remote diagnostics session take?

We commit to completing every session within T+3 business days (T = booking date). The diagnostic process itself typically takes 1–2 hours, though complex faults may take a little longer. Multiple diagnostic sessions for the same fault are not charged separately.

Partnership & Payment Terms

What do the Smartlink C hardware and Gateway software cost?

The Smartlink C hardware is ¥2,500 (EXW Guangzhou); the Gateway software annual licence is ¥6,000/year. Both are required. Payment accepted via WeChat Pay, Alipay, and USDT.

What is your service commitment and refund policy?

We guarantee service completion within T+3 days (T = booking date). Multiple sessions for the same fault are not billed separately. Hardware and software fees are non-refundable once paid; any remaining pre-loaded credit balance is refundable upon termination of the partnership.

Should I choose pre-loaded credit or pay per session?

High-volume shops can top up from ¥5,000 — charges are deducted automatically each session. For occasional use, simply pay per session via WeChat Pay or Alipay with no pre-loading required. All options accept WeChat Pay, Alipay, USDT, and Visa/Mastercard.

Parts Sourcing & Shipping

Do you ship Chinese auto parts worldwide?

Yes. We ship to Russia, CIS, Middle East, Europe, Southeast Asia, and beyond. We offer air freight, sea freight, and rail freight (Gansu–Kazakhstan corridor, serving Russia and Central Asia). Typical delivery: 7–15 days to Moscow, 10–20 days to Dubai, and 15–25 days to EU. DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) options are available for EU and Russia — no customs hassle for your workshop.

What is the minimum order quantity (MOQ) for parts?

No strict MOQ for most parts — we support single-piece orders for repair shops. Volume discounts apply for orders over ¥5,000 RMB.

How do I find the correct OE number for my part?

Send us a photo of the part or your 17-digit VIN. We will identify the correct OE number from our EPC database. You can also browse our Tech Blog for OEM/aftermarket cross-reference tables.
